So, why Metaphysics?

It all begins with an idea.

Crystals. Candles. Incense. Yoga. Meditation. Orishas. Deities. Breath control. There is a growing number of us whom secretly practice ancient African spirituality and it is time for us to come out of the shadows.

The secrets of African Cosmogony and Spiritual practices have always been hidden in plain site and practiced by many non Africans. It has been demonised in the media, by sharing my story I hope to show it is not as scary or elusive as one may think.

I am a Creative and an Entrepreneur. Although they often go together (as many artists have to manage themselves as an artist) the two often conflict as those of us who are artistic by nature, focus on the creative aspect of our work and not so much on selling it.

My background as a freelance creative, black, female and born in Britain comes with its own challenges. Where creative differences rub up against, culture, womanhood, class and prejudiced perceptions.

Freelancing can be fun but also adds its own element of risks to it. Add being a black female creative and the risks and uncertainty gets infinitely higher. I am writing from this viewpoint, but most of the following will resonate for most people of African descent.

So how do we manifest own own power to carry on creating and freelancing in an increasing world of tension, racism, sexism and general widespread prejudice?
